Brian C. Merges graduated from Boston College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Finance and Accounting. After graduating from Boston College, Mr. Merges was a Senior Associate in the Audit, Assurance and Business Advisory division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston. While working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Merges served the auditing and consulting needs of various financial services firms, including Fidelity Investments, Putnam Investments, and Fleet Bank.

While attending Northeastern University School of Law, Mr. Merges worked as an intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Boston law firm of Cetrulo & Capone LLP, and the Essex County – Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Merges graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 2002. Thereafter, Mr. Merges served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kathleen P. March of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Merges was admitted to the California Bar in 2002 and was later admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California in 2003. He joined SABAITIS O’CALLAGHAN as an Associate in March of 2003. Mr. Merges practices litigation with a concentration in business litigation, personal injury defense, complex construction defect litigation, and bankruptcy matters.

Sabaitis O’Callaghan is pleased to announce that it recently successfully argued two writ petitions before the California Court of Appeal. The writ petitions requested that the Court of Appeal overturn two Superior Court decisions holding that our client, Far Fabbri, S.R.L., was subject to personal jurisdiction in California.
