Bret A. Lunsford graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara, with Honors, in 1993. In 1998, he graduated from the Santa Barbara College of Law, Magna Cum Laude, and was admitted to the California State Bar. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California in 1999.
Mr. Lunsford joined Sabaitis • O'Callaghan, LLP in September 2003. His practice presently involves representing clients ranging from national and local construction companies to municipal agencies in all facets of complex civil litigation in both state and federal court. Mr. Lunsford has significant trial experience and has distinguished himself in complex disputes ranging from construction defect to breach of contract and bodily injury claims.
Mr. Lunsford began his legal career in 1998 as a litigation associate with Bauer, Harris, Clinkenbeard & Ramsey. In 2001, he joined Hardin & Coffin, LLP and was involved in the successful defense at trial of three subcontractors in a case entitled El Escorial Homeowners Association v. Santa Barbara Villas, LP. The El Escorial trial holds the Santa Barbara County record for the longest civil trial, taking 11-months to conduct.
